Where can I get information on bankruptcy laws? - Debt Advice Foundation
Q

Where can I get information on bankruptcy laws?

A

Bankruptcy laws are actually just one part of a much broader set of legislation governing all forms of Insolvency in the UK. The Insolvency Act 1986 governs both corporate and personal insolvency, covering, amongst other things, IVAs, Debt Relief Orders and Bankruptcy.

More information about Bankruptcy laws can be found in the Insolvency Act 1986, which is available here.

You can read more about Bankruptcy and whether it is suitable for your situation in our Bankruptcy section.

Debt Advice Foundation is a registered UK charity offering free, confidential support and advice on any aspect of debt, including Bankruptcy. If you need to talk to someone about Bankruptcy or would like to discuss the alternatives, please call to speak to an adviser.
