Debt Advice Foundation are thrilled to learn that our Chairman of the board of Trustees has been honoured as an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
Dennis Benson was awarded the title in the Queens recent 90th birthday Honours List, for services to Education and Commerce. An OBE is awarded for having a major local role in any activity, including people whose work has made them known nationally in their chosen field.
Dennis has been Chairman of Debt Advice Foundation for almost ten years. A former Managing Director of a Lancashire parts company, Dennis was appointed Chairman of the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2005.
He launched a £29m investment program within the organisation which included work at Chorley and Royal Preston hospitals before stepping down as the project neared completion in 2007.
As well as his work with Debt Advice Foundation, Dennis is also Chair of the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
