Unsolicited calls from Debt Advice Foundation

We have posted this previously but we have had an influx of new complaints today. Please be aware that a fraudster is calling members of the public pretending to be from Debt Advice Foundation.

It has been reported to us that someone is contacting people using number-spoofing technology, which makes it appear that the calls or missed calls are coming from our 0800 debt helpline number.

We will never call you unless directly requested. Unfortunately there is very little we can do to prevent further instances and we are not clear as to what the fraudulent caller is trying to achieve. Please remember to never give out personal information to anyone over the telephone unless you are sure they are genuine.

If you actually speak to these fraudulant callers, please let us know what information or actions they were requesting from you, so we can try and understand what steps to take next. Please email [email protected].  Any unsolicited calls from this number should also be reported to Action Fraud immediately as it is a criminal matter.
