Dennis Benson - Chairman

Dennis has been Chairman of Debt Advice Foundation since August 2007.  A former Managing Director of Leyland Multipart, Dennis was appointed Chairman of the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2005, leading what was then a new organisation and launching a £29m investment program that included work at Chorley and Royal Preston hospitals. He stepped down from the trust in 2007. Dennis is also Chair of the Rosemere Cancer Foundation. You can read Dennis' personal blog here.

David Rodger

David Rodger - Managing Director (of Debt Advice Foundation Limited)

David brings with him a wealth of experience from many years served in the consumer debt advice industry. A graduate of the University of Birmingham, David began his working life in the public sector with Salford Social Services before becoming marketing manager of Debt Free Direct Ltd in 2005, where he made a strong contribution to establishing and consolidating the company’s leadership within the debt advice sector. David was appointed Head of Media at Fairpoint Group PLC in 2007 and joined Debt Advice Foundation in December 2008 as Managing Director.

Karol Sanderson

Karol Sanderson - Trustee

Karol has 30 years’ experience in the areas of insolvency and debt. She worked in the Insolvency Service for many years in a wide range of roles, dealing with the administration of bankruptcies and company liquidations, investigations and policy matters. Karol was an Official Receiver for 3 years and became Director of Enforcement in 2009 before leaving the Insolvency Service in 2011.

Karol is currently an independent member of Greater Manchester Police Authority and is Chair of the Admissions & Licensing Committee of the Institute of Legal Executives.

Andrew Redmond - Trustee

Andrew qualified as a Chartered Accountant and as an Insolvency Practitioner during ten years with PriceWaterhouse. He later joined Lathams Chartered Accountants as an Insolvency Partner, becoming Head of Corporate & Personal Insolvency.  In 2001 he was appointed Chairman of the Northern Region for Tenon. Andrew left Tenon to become Chief Executive of a fledgling business started while at Lathams - Debt Free Direct (Fairpoint Group PLC).

Debt Free Direct rapidly grew to become a market leader in debt advice and was listed on the London Stock Exchange as Debt Free Direct Group PLC. Andrew stepped down as Chief Executive of Fairpoint Group PLC (formerly Debt Free Direct Group PLC) in May 2008 and from his role as a non-executive director of the company in early 2009 to focus on other business interests and on the future of Debt Advice Foundation.

John Reynard - Trustee

John graduated in law and qualified as a Chartered Accountant before joining Lathams Chartered Accountants in 1995 as a partner specialising in forensic accounting. In 2001, he was appointed Managing Director of Tenon's forensic service line in the UK. John is currently a partner at Begbies Traynor, within its forensic accounting service line.

Jack Rowlands - Trustee

Jack is a qualified business and personal coach. He was a senior manager of the Royal Bank of Scotland’s Organisational Change Programme during the mid-1990s, and his pioneering coaching activities led to a strategic shift in philosophy and management style at RBS. He has been a full-time business coach for 14 years and is currently a director of PINNA – a transformational coaching consultancy.
