Modern Slavery Statement - Debt Advice Foundation

Modern Slavery Statement

Governance and compliance

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement.

Our structure

Debt Advice Foundation is a registered debt charity in England and Wales (no 1148498) and our purpose is to provide advice and support to those that are currently impacted by debt as well as improving the financial capability of future potential credit users.

Our supply chains

Our supply chains include publishing and printing services, IT services, training providers and consultants.

Our policies and processes

We have appropriate processes and policies in place to mitigate the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking in our organisation and supply chains.

Our procurement process requires all suppliers and contractors to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 where legally required, and we expect them to demonstrate a zero-tolerance approach to exploitation. Our standard terms and conditions for the purchase of goods and services allow for termination in the event of non-compliance.

“We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We are committed to combating slavery and human trafficking, and to acting ethically, transparently and with integrity in all of our transactions and relationships”.

Training

We will provide mandatory awareness training to all staff on the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and inform them of the appropriate action to take if they suspect a case of modern slavery or human trafficking.

We will ensure that staff involved in buying or procurement, and the recruitment and deployment of workers, receive training on modern slavery and ethical employment practices.

Key Performance Indicators

  • 100% of staff will have undertaken mandatory training in relation to modern slavery awareness.
  • 100% of suppliers to Debt Advice Foundation publish a Modern Slavery statement where required under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Policy Review

Our Policy Committee reviews and approves relevant policies every year.
