Consumers Remain Furtive Over Financial Pressures

The Call Credit Information group has reported that 69% of all those who experienced financial strain have never contacted their bank or building society. In addition 42% of consumers surveyed did not admit to financial problems and only 8% contacted their local Citizens Advice or a debt advice Charity for assistance.

The Call Credit Information group has reported that 69% of all those who experienced financial strain have never contacted their bank or building society. In addition 42% of consumers surveyed did not admit to financial problems and only 8% contacted their local Citizens Advice or a debt advice Charity for assistance.

Perhaps most alarmingly of all, 38% of consumers did nothing at all to improve their situation when financial problems first hit. The Call Credit information group warned that financial service providers have to become more aware about the financial situation of their customers, supporting them through identification of the problem and money management.
