Debt Advice Foundation Congratulates Andy Burnham on Becoming Prime Minister
Debt Advice Foundation has extended its congratulations to Andy Burnham following his appointment as the United Kingdom’s new Prime Minister.
The charity looks forward to working with the new Government on initiatives that improve financial education and help people build stronger money management skills from an early age.
Mr Burnham has a longstanding interest in the Foundation’s work. In 2011, while serving as Shadow Education Minister, he visited the charity’s Money Education Centre to see first-hand how practical financial education was being delivered to young people. During the visit, he discussed the importance of equipping future generations with the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions and avoid problem debt later in life.
As Prime Minister, the Foundation hopes his longstanding appreciation of financial capability education will continue to support policies that strengthen financial resilience and improve opportunities for people across the UK.
