How much are the Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS) Fees?
You may have seen the Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS) described as being ‘free’ to the debtor. That’s because, whilst technically, two sets of fees are payable in DAS (an application fee and a payment distribution fee), both of these fees are borne by your creditors, which means the full amount of your payment goes towards repaying your debt.
The law states that the application fee is set at 2% of the amount to be repaid and the payment distribution fee cannot exceed 8% of that amount. This means that your creditors will never receive less than 90% of the total amount owed to them.
Please note that some money advisers will charge additional fees for providing this service. You should ask the money adviser if this is the case before entering into any contractual agreement with them. See Money Adviser Map for more information about finding an approved Money Adviser.
