Debt Advice Foundation has become a registered supporter of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Financial Education for Young People.

The group, which is chaired by Justin Tomlinson MP, aims to support schools in the delivery of financial capability and ensure young people are equipped to make informed financial decisions.

Managing Director David Rodger said "We support the aims of the group wholeheartedly. Engaging with the next generation of credit users to foster a more responsible attitude to borrowing and saving is key to both tackling the burgeoning levels of consumer debt and reducing pressure on oversubscribed advice agencies. Whilst the tangible benefits of investing in financial education today may not be felt for another 10 to 20 years, it will ultimately prove to be very worthwhile."
